We are licensed for 89 children within 5 classrooms; infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and kinder school agers and school agers. Our centre implements the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum. This is a YMCA national curriculum developed by the lead association, the YMCA of Greater Toronto, that helps children in our care discover learning through creative play and aligns with primary school benchmarks. Children will be learning through play. Child’s play provides the foundations for language and literacy; for mathematics, science and technology; and for the arts. It provides Early Childhood Educators with the skills to prepare spaces that are more conducive to learning and the best practices to encourage quality learning experiences.
Outdoor/Gross motor opportunities are provided on a daily basis for all age groups. These include playground time, community walks, swim time (depending on season and classroom) and planned shared experiences. We build healthy communities through programs that teach the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We believe that children are never too young to learn that character counts.
For some families, access to a Licensed Home rather than centre based child care is preferable. Extended hours, overnight possibilities and no more than 5 children may make this a choice for your family. See this section for further details.
